Logo design is an important area of company branding. It is also one of the most difficult to perfect. The logo (ideogram) is the image embodying an organization. They are meant to represent companies’ brands or corporate identity and foster their immediate customer recognition. So it is counterproductive to frequently redesign logos. That is why it is important to get it right the first time. It is the graphic designer’s job to work with the client and create branding that will stand the test of time. I try to accomplish this by listening to what the client wants the logo to say about their business. Then I look at what the trends are for similar companies so I can learn what works and what doesn’t. The first logo that I created was for a project at Antonelli College (Cincinnati Zoo Logo).
